The purpose of the City Trees & Public Policy Team is to bring more native California trees and plants to our cities, towns, and unincorporated areas. The team goal is to help members understand the unique landscape in municipalities, learn about the species that thrive there and can contribute to local ecosystems, and develop tools for advocating to city and county government officials. The team will accomplish this through regular meetings and strategy sessions, providing draft ordinances that provide elected officials a framework for including native trees, and by actively participating in their local and regional processes . 

This team meets on Zoom monthly for dynamic conversations and action oriented agendas. 

We also curate publicly available materials in our Public Team Files to help others promote native plants in their municipalities.  Our Members-only Team Files are accessible to anyone with an NPRT membership. 

How do I join the City Trees & Public Policy team?

When you fill out our NPRT Team Membership form, you can choose the teams you would like to join. If you later decide to join different teams, you simply fill out the same form again with your new choices.
