Berkeley / East Bay
Team
Welcome to the Berkeley / East Bay Team!
The purpose of this team is to bring together people from the East Bay microbiome to support native plant projects and initiatives for team members who live in Berkeley and surrounding East Bay communities. Though anyone is welcome to join, current members are from Berkeley, El Cerrito, Albany, and North Oakland. Although we have a community focus, we also organize field trips to a wide variety of regional locations.
What are we up to?
The team meets in person at one another's gardens to get to know one another and see what each of us is doing in our private gardens. Sometimes meetings end up with a host digging up a plant start for one of us, or someone bringing seeds to give away. We give and get updates about goings on about town- volunteer native plant gardening projects, civic tree plantings and upcoming city decision making that affects native plantings in parks. We propose field trips and community projects to each other. We alternate our monthly meetings between daytime and evenings to accommodate as many schedules as possible. Check the calendar for our next meeting. Hope to see you there!
