The purpose of this team is to help members create lush, resilient, biodiverse California native landscapes in their home gardens. The team plans to provide regular educational opportunities to learn about providing habitat for birds, bees, butterflies and more. Special presentations will focus on sheet mulching, firescaping, creating rain gardens, and more. Activities include taking field trips to visit home gardens throughout the region, helping each other design and implement home garden projects, and sharing information, resources, seeds and plants.
We also curate publicly available materials in our Public Team Files to help others promote native plants in their municipalities. Our Members-only Team Files are accessible to anyone with an NPRT membership.
How do I get involved?
Get started by clicking HERE and filling out the NPRT Team Membership form. From there you will be added to our NPRT Google Group, which will keep you informed and grant you full access to our calendar, events, and materials.
We've created the NPRT Garden-Along as a way to learn together as we tend our native gardens. With our “Garden-Along” project, we can connect and share information about the work we’re doing in our gardens each month and also share our observations. We will have suggestions about things you can do, plan and see in the garden, tailored to the time of year, weather, and local activities. The aim is to foster a robust and dynamic conversation online with lots of questions and suggestion
